IKM acquires Årdal Mekaniske Verksted AS
On August 20th 2007 the IKM Group takes over the shares in Årdal Mekaniske Verksted AS at Tau.
The sellers are Hogne and Hans Fjellanger. The company will change its name to IKM Årdal Mekaniske AS, but will continue as before with the same address of business and management.
Today IKM Årdal Mekaniske AS has 22 employees and reached a turn-over of 42 million NOK in 2006. The company is situated in new and modern facilities at Tau. The company will be a part of the Electro/Instrument/Process division in IKM, which after the acquisition will have a turn-over of 530 million NOK in 2007.
Årdal Mekaniske Verksted AS has enjoyed a considerable growth over the years, which has strengthened the company’s position as a leading partner within production and maintenance for the onshore/offshore industry. The business areas of ÅMV are today machining, welding and installation. The company’s backlog is increasing and an extension of the production facilities is in progress. ÅMV was established in 1974 and has had the same owners until today. The former owners think that the possibilities for the company will be greatly strengthened by the IKM ownership.
With this acquisition, the IKM Group will further strengthen the position as a supplier of machining special components. The already established IKM company IKM Larsen & Mortensen AS is in the same business area as ÅMV. It is IKM’s objective to grow extensively within the area of machining, and the group will focus on recruiting new personnel and offering flexible working hours will be crucial in the process. This acquisition will provide our customers with a more complete offer within production and service.
