IKM Karsten Moholt provides certified repair, overhaul, and maintenance of explosion-protected (Ex) motors and electrical equipment. Our services ensure that equipment continues to operate safely while maintaining compliance with applicable Ex standards and certification requirements.

We perform inspection, repair, modification, and overhaul of Ex equipment across a wide range of protection types and machine sizes. All work is carried out by qualified specialists following documented procedures to ensure that ignition protection and equipment integrity are preserved.

Our services allow customers to maintain existing installations without costly replacement of certified equipment. By restoring equipment to its original protection concept, we help ensure continued operational safety while reducing downtime and procurement risk.

Services are delivered from our workshop facilities and through field service operations both nationally and internationally.

Certifications

IKM Karsten Moholt operates the only workshop in Norway holding an IECEx Service Facility certification. The certification covers installation, inspection, maintenance, repair, and modification of explosion-protected equipment in accordance with IEC standards.

This provides documented safety, international credibility, and confidence for our customers. The workshop is audited and approved by an independent IECEx certification body and also operates under the national DNV workshop scheme.

In addition to this, IKM Karsten Moholt also holds Norway’s only repair certification from Underwriter’s Laboratories, which let’s us offer the exact same range of services for UL-certified equipment, as we do for equipment certified under the ATEX or IECEx regulations.
