Key Highlights:
- Enhanced Safety: ValveWatch was developed in response to the need for increased safety on installations. In the 1980s and 1990s, several accidents in oil and gas installations led authorities to implement strict regulations for monitoring safety-critical equipment. With ValveWatch, continuous control of the technical condition of valves ensures they will function when needed, significantly enhancing safety.
- Comprehensive Monitoring: ValveWatch provides current monitoring for a variety of critical valves, including BDV, ESD, PSV, X-mas trees (Wing and Master valves), FOV, and HIPPS valves.
- Advanced Diagnostics: By attaching sensors for pressure, strain, and valve position, ValveWatch can verify if there is an issue and determine whether the problem lies with the valve or the actuator. This capability helps reduce maintenance costs and potentially shortens downtime, as fewer valves need to be overhauled.
- Leakage Monitoring: ValveWatch also monitors valve leakage. For valves with cavities, such as ball valves, slab gate valves, and expanding gate valves, it can detect changes in leakage even when the valve is continuously open. If a change in leakage is detected, an alert is issued, prompting a physical inspection of the valve. Additionally, ValveWatch can monitor valve leakage when the valves are closed.
- Permanent Installation: ValveWatch is permanently installed on valves, providing an online, real-time picture of their condition and performance.
- Portable Diagnostic Tools: In addition to the permanent system, IKM ValveWatch offers the ValveWatch Diagnostic Tools (VDT), a portable suitcase. This tool is particularly useful for checking a selection of valves before a planned shutdown. It helps identify which valves need maintenance and allows for the procurement of parts in advance. Based on the information from VDT tests, maintenance on other valves can be deferred.
- Environmental Compliance: ValveWatch helps reduce environmental emissions through safety flaring and ensures compliance with local laws and regulations.
Additional Benefits:
- Industry Leader: ValveWatch is recognized as the benchmark standard for critical valve performance and condition monitoring.
- Extensive Installation: The system is installed on approximately 2000 valves, showcasing its reliability and widespread adoption.
- Global Reach: The technology is utilized in multiple countries, both offshore and onshore, by a long list of Oil & Gas Operation companies.
- Valve Diagnostics: IKM ValveWatch offers condition monitoring and valve diagnostics at the customer's location or through remote access. With extensive experience from Equinor Integrated Operations Center (IOC) in Bergen, our engineers work as part of the IOC team, monitoring On/Off and control valves.
- Customer Support: IKM ValveWatch assists customers with troubleshooting, maintenance assessments, and diagnostics using both ValveWatch and other diagnostic systems.
ValveWatch's commitment to excellence and innovation has solidified its position as the go-to solution for ensuring the optimal performance and condition of critical valves in the industry.
