Technical Training Instructor - IKM Testing UK (Aberdeen)

Overall Purpose of the Job

Design and delivery of both internal training courses for IKM personnel and also external client training. To develop and execute strategies for growing the external training business. Act as a focal point for all external training opportunities and ensure all current and prospective client needs are addressed. Responsible for the completion of quote documents in response to customers Invitation for quotation. To assist with the duties as verifier within the IKM competency system.

Roles and responsibilities

Internal Training:
• Design, develop and deliver IKM training courses both internally to IKM personnel and to external clients.
• Design and implement IKM training course schedule, ensuring it is kept up-to-date and communicated to
  all employees. Ensure delivery of training courses as per the set IKM training timetable.
• Manage all training course information and documentation through the online electronic
   Learning Management System (Global Web). This includes pre and post course data entry.
• Deploy most effective methods of training delivery to ensure knowledge retention; blended
   learning approach to training and development.
• Update training course material as required, to ensure modules and information are relevant
   to the tasks employees perform.
• Provide recommendations for the purchase of learning aids, programmes, and systems that
   will aid the improvement of delivering learning evolutions.
• Review employee Personal Development Plans, Competency Scorecards, and specific training requests,
  to plan training evolutions to meet current and future needs of the business and employees.
• Support the Competency & Training Coordinator in maintaining relevant systems, procedures
  and documentation.
• Work with operations to allow forward planning based on the expected volume of workload to
   be awarded. Identify peaks and troughs within activity levels and resource team accordingly.
• Certified Competency
• Assist with the duties as verifier within the IKM competency system

External Training:
• Work with the BD Department and utilise the IKM Sales Process, in order to develop new opportunities for IKM to deliver external client training.
• Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information to management when appropriate.
• Work with operations to review current IKM operational contracts to identify new opportunities to deliver external client training.
• Attend and present at external client meetings and internal meetings with other company functions, in order to support business development.
• Work with the BD Manager and Operations Managers to develop strategies to identify new prospective clients and opportunities to deliver external client training.
• Provide information as required to the Tendering Department for completion of quotes, tenders, etc.

Qualifications Required (Technical, Professional, Academic)

Preferred:
• Training Instructor qualification preferable or proven experience.
• Competency Verifier

Experience Required

Essential:
• Sound technical knowledge of Pipeline and Process operations within the onshore/offshore oil and gas industry and the equipment used.
• Must have previous experience delivering technical training courses.

Preferred:
• Ability to deliver ECITB MJIs advantageous.
