IKM Testing UK (Aberdeen)

Due to the continued success of our digital learning division and growing demand for our services internationally, IKM Testing in Aberdeen is looking for a creative and motivated eLearning designer to join our highly innovative and dynamic design team. As an eLearning designer, you will play a key role in developing modern and engaging digital learning content for our global organisation and external clients. This role will involve closely collaborating with international subject matter experts and our in-house 3D visualisation and multimedia experts to produce industry-leading online training solutions. Roles and Responsibilities

Content Development

  • Work closely with instructional designers and subject matter experts to understand learning objectives and content requirements.
  • Work with content supplied by our in-house 3D animation team, and incorporate this material into online courses and solutions using 3rd party interactive software.
  • Design and develop instructional material, presentations, eLearning modules, courses, and multimedia content using authoring tools and graphic design software.
  • Create interactive and engaging learning activities that enhance the overall learning experience.

Multimedia Production

  • Develop multimedia elements such as graphics, animations, audio, and video to enhance the visual appeal and effectiveness of eLearning content.
  • Edit and enhance existing multimedia materials to align with instructional goals.

Quality Assurance

  • Review and test learning materials for accuracy, functionality, and adherence to design standards.
  • Implement feedback from stakeholders to continuously improve the quality of eLearning materials.

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including instructional designers, subject matter experts, and project managers, to achieve project goals and deadlines.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas to enhance the overall learning experience.
  • Work with our in-house 3D team to see how best to integrate interactivity and immersive ideas into online learning experiences.

Professional Development

  • Stay updated on industry trends, eLearning technologies, and best practices.
  • Seek opportunities for professional development to enhance skills in eLearning design.

General Responsibilities

  • Adhere to company’s policies and procedures.

Qualifications Required (Technical, Professional, Academic)

Essential

  • HNC/HND or degree in instructional design, eLearning development, graphic design, or a related field or 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

Experience Required

Essential

  • Familiarity with eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate).
  • Understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).

Preferred

  • Experience in working with interactive 3D models, AR and VR.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Basic knowledge of HTML5 and CSS.
  • Familiarity with SCORM and other eLearning standards.
  • Experience with working with project management and meeting deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
