IKM Testing UK in Aberdeen are now recruiting for a Mobilisation Technician.  Prior experience of working within the Oil & Gas industry is essential.  The role is responsible for ensuring that all project mobilisations & demobilisations are planned and undertaken in a competent, safe and professional manner; that all project procurement requirements are identified in a timely manner; and stores areas are maintained.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Review mob lists, participate in mobilisation meetings to ensure the correct items are listed and co-ordinate all mob/demobilisations.
  • Ensure all de-mobilised equipment is received and handled as per IKM procedures.
  • Identify shortages in a timely manner and communicate to engineers the need for PO/Rental order requests to be issued to the procurement department.
  • Liaise with the procurement department on placing Purchase/Rental Orders.
  • Work with suppliers and the procurement department to gain competitive pricing on common stores items.
  • Communicate with operations and other departments on delivery schedules for mobilisations and also for receiving hired equipment in a timely manner prior to any inspection and mobilisations.
  • Ensuring rentals are off-hired in accordance with the Ikm mob demob procedure.
  • Build an awareness of Dangerous Goods labelling and documentation etc and highlight before mobbing where DGs are required.
  • Liaise with the Logistics Coordinator to ensure that all freight, transportation and shipping paperwork is in order.
  • Ensure all relevant certification is available for load out.
  • Manage the stores area ensuring a sufficient stock level of spares and consumables is available for all offshore and onshore operational requirements.
  • Ensure all certification MSDS are obtained for all new products.
  • Liaise with Senior Mobilisation Technician and coordinate personnel working in the yard on project mob/demobilisations and ensure they are working in a safe manner.
  • Organise off hiring of third party equipment and quarantine of fault goods returned.
  • Loading and unloading of truck deliveries and mob outs along with photographs of the equipment mobilising.
  • Allocation of items and populate MR / Mob Lists with these items and all the relevant information i.e. Serial Numbers, Pressures etc.
  • Organise the Equipment in the Yard, to be set aside in designated areas and in a tidy manner.
  • Carry out your duties and responsibilities adhering to and in accordance with any and all Company Policies, protocols, procedures, risk assessments and systems (including emergency and incident routines) as well as specific site assignment instruction/requirements.
  • Travel to any other IKM sites in execution of your duties.

Qualifications Required (Technical, Professional, Academic)

Essential:

  • Forklift Truck license up to 16T.

Preferred:

  • DGM Land and Sea.
  • Fittings Awareness.
  • Overhead Crane

Experience Required

Essential:

  • Basic knowledge of Pipeline and Process Testing equipment used onshore and offshore
  • Knowledge of Cargo Handling ad packing of different types of containers.

Preferred:

  • General understanding of Procurement, Logistics and Warehousing.

  • Must have previous experience working in the Oil and Gas industry.

  • Computer literacy - Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
