As a result of sustained growth across all service lines, IKM Testing in Aberdeen are now recruiting for their 2024 Trainee Operator Programme.

Whilst prior experience of working in the oil and gas or renewables industry is advantageous, and preference will be given to those with an electrical / mechanical aptitude, prior experience is not essential, as full training will be delivered to all successful candidates through IKM’s internal training department.

As a successful candidate, you will be trained and developed to become a Well Services operator. You will be willing to travel offshore and internationally as and when required, be driven, reliable, flexible, and clearly demonstrate the proactive and can-do attitude we expect of all IKM employees.

The position will be based out of our Westhill facility in Aberdeen, so you must be within easy commuting distance of Westhill at the point employment commences, as you will be required to work in our yard when not out in the field with operations.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Communicate in a positive manner with all staff and departmental managers.
  • Complete onshore equipment maintenance induction and yard experience programme.
  • Experience gained during attendance of training courses and whilst under direct supervision of job supervisor or delegate.
  • Successful complete QHSE induction.
  • Responsible for gathering on the job evidence and submitting to iSkills.
  • An understanding of company Quality, Safety, Health & Environment systems and programmes.
  • To carry out your duties and responsibilities in accordance with any and all Company Policies, protocols, procedures, risk assessments and systems (including emergency and incident routines) as well as specific site assignment instruction/requirements.
  • Commute and work in the IKM yard.
  • Travel offshore and work on vessels and offshore installations.
  • Basic understanding and operation of IKM’s Primary Equipment.
  • Basic understanding of IKM’s Core Services.

Qualifications Required (Technical, Professional, Academic)

Essential:

  • Basic Secondary.

Preferred:

  • College Diploma or higher.

Experience Required

Preferred:

  • Previous experience working in the Oil and Gas industry.

Personal Skills

  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Enthusiasm and commitment.
  • Ability to work well in a team whilst also independently using own initiative.
  • Proactive with a high attention to detail and a high standard of work output.
  • Represent IKM’s best interests at all times.
