Equinor Energy has awarded on behalf of Johan Castberg partners IKM Testing a comprehensive and long-term contract at Johan Castberg FPSO. The contract has a duration to 2024.
The scope of work is N2/He Leakage testing & PSV calibration and supplementary work related to testing such as; Bolt work, Chemical cleaning, Hot oil flushing, Drying, Machining of flanges, Cutting Pipes and machining pipewedges.
Engineering and planning will start shortly after the summer and will continue until spring 2021. Services on site will be conducted during assembling of hull and topside modules at Kvaerner's yard at Stord. Thereafter Johan Castberg FPSO will be towed to the field in the Barents Sea where Hook-up and final completion, prior to production startup.
During the offshore hook-up and commissioning phase of the project all mobilization will be from Hammerfest and Polarbase and IKM Testing's branch office in Hammerfest will be heavily involved. IKM Testing has extensive experience in the Arctics and has carried out more than 400,000 offshore manhours in connection with hook-up, commissioning and operating support for installations in the Barents Sea and at Equinor's LNG plant at Melkøya.
IKM Testing has previously been awarded nitrogen and commissioning services at the Martin Linge, Johan Sverdrup Phase 2 and Njord Future project. With this Johan Castberg award we will be an important part of completion of Equinor's ongoing projects on NCS. Within the close cooperation between IKM Testing and Equinor, we work with contionius improvements to implement best practise for a safer and more efficient completion of projects.
